“Antonov” State Enterprise is the place that since 1946 has been helping to fulfill the dream of conquering not only the sky, but also space. It is located not somewhere abroad, but in Kyiv.

Oleh Antonov, the chief construction engineer of the plant, couldn’t live without the sky. He was carried away with the construction of airplanes while still at school, when he made a glider from plywood and water pipes. So later on he became the founder of Soviet gliding.

The plant is engaged in the design and manufacture of aircraft and spacecraft.

More than 100 types of aircraft have already been built. It was here that the largest, heaviest cargo aircraft in the world was created — the AN-225 “Mriya”.

In addition, since 1989 the enterprise has received the permission for international cargo transportations and the status of national cargo carrier of Ukraine. Crews and aircrafts fly to all continents of the planet. To do this, the Antonov plant has created dozens of models of cargo aircraft, such as An-4, An-8, An-12, An-14, An-22, An-26 and many others.
