80th Air Assault Brigade

Since the very first days of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, the soldiers of the 80th Separate Halychyna Air Assault Brigade have been fighting in the fiercest battles in eastern Ukraine. From the liberation of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk more than a decade ago to the battles in the Kursk region in 2024, the brigade has always been where the fighting is most intense. The “80th” defended Donetsk Airport and held the line at Luhansk Airport for 146 days while surrounded by enemy forces. During Russia’s full-scale invasion, its soldiers helped stop the Russian advance toward Mykolaiv, fought near Bakhmut, joined the counteroffensive in the Kharkiv region, and continue serving on the Sumy front.

The “80th” comes from Halychyna, just like we do, so this collaboration feels natural. There is another symbol that unites us too: the lion. It stands for the brigade just as it stands for our home city Lviv. That is why we brought it to life on this charity collaboration T-shirt. In 2023, the brigade was awarded the honorary title “Galician” in recognition of its distinguished service during the full-scale war. It is also one of the very few brigades to have received the Honorary Distinction of the President of Ukraine “For Courage and Bravery” twice.
